NetEnt ready to hit Pennsylvanian market

Swedish iGaming giant NetEnt has decided to take a shot at the unique Pennsylvanian market and has applied for a license with the Pennsylvanian Gaming Control Board (PGCB) to supply local operators with its world-leading online casino games.

The online gambling world is ready to face another change with the Pennsylvania state legislature having approved a bill that allows online casino gambling in October 2017.

With 13 million residents Pennsylvania represents the second-largest U.S. state that has regulated online gambling and is therefore an interesting and attractive market for iGaming companies.

Also, with a long tradition of land-based gambling, the population is accustomed to all sorts of gambling and the players will more than welcome NetEnt’s awarded slot and table games.

The domino effect caused by the new bill, allowed Stars Group and iSports Genius to enter the U.S market and NetEnt decided to follow suit. The company is set to apply for the license to the PGCB and deliver its award-winning content to Pennsylvanian casinos for their online casino operations.

Eleven out of thirteen land-based casinos in Pennsylvania have applied for the online gambling licenses in the spring with a price tag of $10 million and five of them have been approved including Parx, Harrah’s, Mount Airy casinos, Hollywood Casino and SugarHouse.

Now the GCB is offering seven more licenses and casinos can apply from 15 to 31 October. Considering the fact Pennsylvania took in more tax revenue from gambling than any other U.S. state between 22009 and 2011, it’s no wonder everyone expect the huge comeback.
